How to Play
Centibox is a logic puzzle played on a 10×10 grid. Your goal is to place the numbers 1 through 100 in sequence, one per cell, following a single movement rule:
Each number must be placed exactly 3 cells away horizontally or vertically, or exactly 2 cells away diagonally from the previous one. Plan ahead — the grid fills up fast!
Tap any highlighted cell to place the next number. If you get stuck, use the Undo button to backtrack as many steps as you need and try a different route.
Frequently Asked Questions
I can't find any valid move — am I stuck?
This happens! No highlighted cells means there are no reachable moves from your current position. Use Undo to go back and try a different path. There's no penalty for undoing — use it as much as you like.
How is my score calculated?
Your score is the highest number you successfully placed in the current game. If you fill all 100 cells, you win with a perfect score of 100. Your all-time best score is saved permanently.
Is it possible to fill all 100 cells?
Yes — but it requires careful planning. The puzzle is inspired by the Knight's Tour problem in chess, which has many solutions. With practice and smart use of Undo, reaching 100 is achievable.
My best score was reset. What happened?
Your best score is stored locally on your device. If you uninstalled the app or reset your device without a backup, the score may have been lost. Unfortunately it cannot be recovered once deleted.
Does the game require an internet connection?
No. Centibox is 100% offline. You can play anywhere — on a plane, commute, or anywhere without Wi-Fi.
Is Centibox free?
Yes, Centibox is free to play with no in-app purchases. The app is supported by optional rewarded video ads — you only see an ad if you choose to use the Hint feature.
What is the Hint feature and how does it work?
The Hint button appears during an active game when a video ad is available. Tapping it will ask if you'd like to watch a short video. If you accept, the app will analyse all possible paths from your current position and highlight the best next move in orange. If no solution exists from your position, you'll be notified instead.
Why does the app ask for tracking permission on iPhone?
This permission (App Tracking Transparency) is requested by Apple before any ad is displayed. It allows Google AdMob to show you more relevant ads. You can decline — you will still be able to watch ads and use the Hint feature, but the ads shown will not be personalised to your interests.
The app crashes or doesn't open. What should I do?
Try force-closing the app and reopening it. If the problem persists, uninstall and reinstall from the App Store or Google Play. If the issue continues, please contact us below with your device model and OS version.
